Hey! This is my family – my husband Dane, our three-year-old son Madden, and me, Nadine, 33 weeks pregnant with our second baby boy! We’ve just finished our baby-family-moon (or, as I like to call it, our family-moon) in Marcoola, a true coastal paradise. Typically, a baby-moon holiday is so the parents-to-be can enjoy some R&R before the baby is born. We put a slightly different spin on it by bringing along Madden, so it was more of a holiday to celebrate life together before we became a family of four!
To be honest, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. We’re a family that loves travel and adventuring, especially when it’s on home soil. Thanks to my pregnancy, we didn’t want to travel too far – we live on the Gold Coast, so choosing the destination for us was easy. We were all craving a coastal vacay and some time to reconnect as a family of three, without the distractions of work, domestic life and pre-baby preparations. I’m originally from the Sunshine Coast; I grew up and went to school there, and my parents still live in the hinterland, so it’s always had a special place in my heart. We were looking for somewhere that paired tranquillity with a touch of surf ’n’ sand, and Ramada Marcoola Beach matched our needs perfectly!
The resort ticked all the boxes and more. Pools, the beach at our doorstep, several restaurants to choose from, excellent service, kids’ deals, beautiful beaches, and lots of nearby attractions that catered perfectly to young families. The biggest decision each day was to choose between the beach or poolside – a pretty awesome either-or scenario. We spent most days indulging in a leisurely breakfast, before swimming in the huge resort pool or hitting the surf. I even indulged in a pregnancy massage at the day spa, before heading out to explore the local attractions.
Each afternoon, we’d walk along the beach and take Madden on seaside adventures – looking for cool shells and building sandcastles. Sun-kissed and relaxed, we’d unwind at the end of each day, filled with gratitude for the beautiful surroundings.
Marcoola’s gorgeous landscapes and suite of awesome attractions was perfect for our family-moon – best of all, we had an amazing experience with Ramada Marcoola Beach’s family-friendly facilities and great hospitality. We got a good dose of sun-soaked relaxation, and returned from our trip more close-knit than ever before, ready for Baby No. 2’s arrival. Thanks for having us, Ramada Marcoola Beach, we’ll most definitely be back, but next time there’ll be four of us!
Nadine and the Mullers, xoxo
